Jaruco watches in growing trend of high blood pressure

Jaruco, Mayabeque. In Jaruco blood pressure is kept for two years as a chronic no communicable disease with the highest incidence and prevalence among the population, to the point that now affects more than 4500 people.



Of those, 126 were diagnosed in 2015 and although the indicator remains below the percent estimated to be considered the condition as a health problem in the municipality tendency closely monitored.


Dr. Jorge Gonzalez Aguiar, deputy director of Hygiene and Epidemiology of Jaruco, noted that the number of patients suffering from high blood pressure could be higher, if one takes account of the low risk perception of people who do not regularly attend the consultation.


The specialist stressed that check high pressure is now a priority in Jaruco to prevent pathologies associated as cerebrovascular disease, which today is the leading cause of death in the territory with 150 cases at the end of last calendar.
