Circle of interest of fight against the drought and rational use of the water retakes its activities

Jaruco, Mayabeque. The circle of interest in combating drought and rational use of water at the elementary school Pelayo Cuervo Navarro in San Antonio de Río Blanco resumed its educational activities during this school year.

According to information provided by the Ministry of Science and Technology and Environment (CITMA) in the municipality, the initiative emerged with the aim of promoting awareness among children of saving and rational use of water and also as part of the awareness campaign which the country undertakes in the face of the severe drought that plagues us.

The note states that the circle of interest to combat drought and rational use of water is under the tutelage of CITMA specialists in the municipality and the Hydropower Utilization Company of Mayabeque, designated by that entity to advise children and teachers on the subject.

Among the subjects to be trained in this project are the knowledge about the technology of the distribution and sanitation networks, the processes of conditioning water quality and analytical and biological issues, together with health aspects and reuse, steps that are part of the proper functioning of water services.

The CITMA delegation in Jaruco intends to extend the circles of interest to combat drought and rational use of water by at least one educational center in each Popular Council of Jaruco.
