Jaruco, Mayabeque. A seller of Jaruco agreed to show this 37-pound pumpkin that was on sale for the weekend for my camera. Do you like pumpkin? Well read and know its wonderful benefits:
Eating pumpkin is good for the heart because of its high content of vitamin C, fiber, and potassium.
And consuming the right potassium is almost as important as reducing sodium intake for the treatment of hypertension.
The orange color of pumpkins is due to its richness of beta-carotene, a substance that is converted into vitamin A.
This is very important for the eyes because it helps the retina absorb and process light.
Also, the more pumpkins you consume (without exaggerating), more beta-carotene will reach your body, and therefore the risk of cancer decreases, including prostate and lung cancer.
To this add that the pumpkin has almost 20% of the recommended daily amount of vitamin C, essential to reduce colds and recover quickly from them.
As we are in summer it is essential to protect ourselves from the UV rays of the sun, so if you eat pumpkin your beta-carotene will preserve you from wrinkles.
But the pulp of that food can serve as a natural face mask, which exfoliates and softens.
The recipe is simple: a quarter cup of pumpkin puree, an egg, a spoonful of honey and a spoonful of milk. Mix the ingredients, apply them, wait more or less 20 minutes and wash with warm water.
Another thing, blood glucose levels can be reduced with pumpkin consumption.
According to scientific experiments, this food improves glucose tolerance and increases the amount of insulin that the body produces.
So, DIABETICS, HYPERTENSIONS, VACATIONISTS, WOMEN, MEN, CHILDREN, and ELDERS AND…. EVERYONE! TO EAT PUMPKIN!
