Jaruco, Mayabeque. The result of joint work between the Committees for the Defense of the Cuban Revolution (CDR) and the Directorate of Public Health, in Jaruco this year, there are now more than 600 voluntary blood donors.

This was reported by Dairelys Martínez García, Municipal Coordinator of the CDR, adding that among them, young people linked to the cooperative and peasant sector stand out.

Each month Jaruco gives the Ministry of Public Health 62 voluntary blood donations, which are sent to health centers and banks where they are made of blood products to save human lives.

According to the National Blood Program, in our country more than 400 thousand voluntary blood donations are made every year, a totally altruistic gesture of the Cuban population.
