Jaruco, Mayabeque. The historic moment in which Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz handed over lands to more than a thousand peasants of the then province of Havana, today Mayabeque will be remembered by the National Association of Small Farmers, this March 29 in Güines.
1500 peasants of Madruga, Jaruco, Güines, Batabanó and Aguacate will reedit the moment in a journey through the streets of Güines to the emblematic Esquina de Tejas of that municipality.
There will be a political and cultural event in which the grandson of one of the cooperative members who benefit from the Agrarian Reform Law will speak, on behalf of the more than a thousand peasants who for the first time owned the land they worked for.
Miguel Luis Núñez Tamayo, member of the ANAP Bureau, in charge of Education and Ideological Political Work, announced that the evening will be enlivened by the poets Héctor Gutiérrez, Aramís Padilla and the children of the Taller de Repentismo of the House of the Tenth of Mayabeque.
The activity is included in the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the enactment of the Agrarian Reform Law and the Day of the Peasant, next May 17.
