Jaruco, Mayabeque. The day of homage to Camilo Cienfuegos and Che Guevara will begin in Jaruco next October 8 with the entry of more than two hundred first grade students to the José Martí Pioneer Organization (OPJM).

That day, family and teachers will put the blue scarf in the necks of the little ones, an attribute that will accompany them until the third grade, when they will receive the red one, in the context of the births of Maceo and Che.

Marialis Romero Avila, president of the OPJM in Jaruco, said that the activities to remember the beloved commanders, workshops, special morning sessions, as well as poetry and drawing contests will be held.

The traditional pilgrimage to the River San Juan de Jaruco to deposit flowers to Camilo, the Lord of the Vanguard 60 years after his physical disappearance, will be the culmination of the activities that are traditionally carried out in the schools of Jaruco in honor of both guerrillas.
