Since that historic July 26, two thousand and seven, in Camaguey, when Army General Raul Castro called on Cubans to look inside and find the best solutions to maintain the conquests of the Revolution, the commitments and loyalty to the Fatherland, and to fulfill it is necessary to work and work hard.

A year later, another July 26 dawns with the imprint of that call directed to new battles, decisive and unattainable, in which every Cuban of good will have to grow to develop our economy, after facing the hardest of the special period.

In the midst of the economic crisis in which humanity is submerged, to which Cuba does not escape, the task is not easy nor is it around a corner, but in efficient, productive, disciplined, quality and organized work to provide the country with what it demands so that honest work occupies its rightful place and riches pass to those who produce, without individualism.

As the First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Raúl Castro Ruz reiterates in each speech, “the progress is above all in organized work, in control and demand day after day; systematic rigor, order and discipline from the national instance to each of the thousands of places where something is produced or a service is provided”.

Today, Cubans call again to grow before the challenges that lie ahead, produce and produce more and more food and material goods, but this will only be achieved with the sweat of the honest worker, defending honesty and solidarity against all manifestations of corruption incompatible with our Socialist model.

Therefore, Jaruqueños, it is necessary to join all the daily battles against our own mistakes, those that aggravate the objective difficulties derived from external causes, such as the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States.

Working is the word of order because if we do, as Raúl said, “we will never return to the past because there is no bigger prize than fulfilling duty.”

Once again the feat has to be everyday. Let’s make the celebration of this July 26 a commitment to stick more to the groove, to be victorious, with the conviction that it is necessary to work and work hard for the welfare of the Cuban family.

Recall the speech delivered by Raúl, at the central event for the 65th Anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks, in the 26 de Julio School City, Santiago de Cuba, last year, when he said, “with force del Moncada, with independence already conquered and Fidel’s permanent presence among us, we can affirm that no matter how difficult the circumstances may be, however great the challenges may be, our people will forever defend their Socialist Revolution. History has shown that it could be done, it can be done and you can always get ahead”.
