Scientific project is applied with good results in Mayabeque Porcino Company

Jaruco, Mayabeque. “Effects of the time of the year on the behavior of reproductive indicators” is the name given to the research applied by specialists from the Porcino Mayabeque and the Meteorological Station of Bainoa.

Esther María Lee Cruz, Reproduction Specialist of the Porcino Company, said that the study establishes a comparison between the years 2016 to 2018 in relation to the morbidity of effective births and the deaths of the offspring born of the pig breeds Yorl Land and the Yor.

On the other hand, the main specialist of the Bainoa Meteorological Station and co-author of the research, Juan Carlos López said that the work determined the appropriate months to start the process of gestation of the breeding females, taking into account the ambient temperature.

In that sense, this investigation showed that the appropriate temperature for reproduction of the aforementioned races ranges between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius, that is, between the months of October to March.

Thanks to this study, the Porcino Company Mayabeque increased the quality of life of the breeders, the number of offspring at birth, and therefore greater economic indicators that results in the fulfillment of the delivery of pork to the State.
